Museum Hosts Book Signing Event
Seguin Heritage Museum will host, "Meet The Photographer" Sat, April 30, at 1, 3 and 4 p.m.
Located at 114 N. River the museum welcomes Robert Gardner, author/photographer to sign three of his recent photography collections, "Faces of the Far East ,
and "Kitchen Art".
All are available for sale at the museum, as well as prints from his collection.
Gardner, a Seguinite and internationally acclaimed photographer,captured the attention of the record -setting crowd during the Seguin Heritage Museum's recent 14th anniversary event. His photos, each a natural light glimpse into many unique lifestyles, delivered the "rest of the world" to our hometown. In a brief commentary about life's one of a kind moments, he took guests on a memorable, yet personal journey thru the lens of his camera.

Students To Display Artistic Talent
Art work by students throughout our area has a new home at the Museum!
Students from Seguin ISD, Navarro, Marion, St. James and Lifegate Christian will be displayed in conjunction with Bob Gardner's Photographic Exhibit.
All the art will be featured through the first week in May and concludes with a reception for the parents and relatives.
The students’ work will be on the first floor this year and Bob Gardner’s work is upstairs.

Robert Gardner receives prestigious invitation
Seguin photographer and artist Robert “Bob” Gardner has been invited to participate in the 2011 “Search for Outstanding and Undiscovered Fine Art Photography” sponsored by The Curator Group in New York .
One of his photographs, above, is among those which will be featured in his Seguin Heritage Museum exhibit, opening April 1, coinciding with the 14th Anniversary of the museum.
Gardner's work will be among submitted works will be judged byindustry professionals and the selected finalists will be part of the Curator group show at the Milk Gallery Space in New York City this summer.
In addition, each chosen photographer will receive a two page spread in a print gallery in the July issue of Photo District News, with a distribution of 25,000 readers including photo editors, art directors and art buyers.
Bob will be submitting entries in several categories including portraits, nature and street photography.

Texas History Takes the Spotlight at HEB, Seguin
Seguin Heritage Museum will be displaying an exhibit at Seguin HEB ,1368 East Court Street which will celebrate Revolutionary Texas and early Texas History.
Dates for the exhibit are Sat. March 5 and March 12.
The exhibit will be located inside HEB near the Deli , and will be open from 11 a.m. -3p.m. both Saturdays.
The historic display is coordinated with HEB's recognition of the 175th Anniversry of Texas Independence and is being observed around the state. Many other exhibits will be featured outside the store in the new parking lot behind First Commercial Bank.
Museum Director, John Gesick; Museum Manager, Pat Kenneaster; and volunteers have coordinated the items for the display, which is of general historical interest and will be especially informative for students, teachers and all those who enjoy memorabilia, documents and photos pertaining to Texas history.
Also on display will be artifacts discovered from the Floyd and Jody McKee archaeological dig, south of Seguin.

Art in the Park for Kids of All Ages
Central Park at the Court House

Marika and members of the Seguin Sculptors Guild will work with “kids of all
ages” on an art tapestry/quilt. The tapestry will represent the architectural
beauty of downtown Seguin. Prior to ArtsFest a number of local artists will add
their interpretation of Seguin architectureto the tapestry. The project for the
kids of all ages will be to add accents and borders to the tapestry using a
resin based material.

Got Photos? We Do!
If you’d like to find an old photo from past years’ Youth Shows, check with the Seguin Heritage Museum. We have many on file and reprints are available in the size of your choice.
Seguin Heritage Museum salutes all the 2011 entrants in the Guadalupe County Youth and Livestock Show held at the Seguin Fairgrounds and Event Center. There were some 600, many with multiple entries within all of the animal, homemakers, photography and mechanic categories. Total entries were up 194 , from 2010.
