Marika Bordes' Spring Schedule of Events

Sites to feature the sculpture of Marika will begin with the newly restored Texas Theater, Texas Lutheran
University’s Chapel of the Abiding Presence, Siempre Sustainable Network, and
the Seguin ArtsFest, beginning in March.  Mark your calendars for the following dates:

The Texas Theater

Come and enjoy the restored Texas Theater.  See sculptures in wood, ceramic, and
metal by Marika and other members of the Seguin Sculptors Guild.  Listen
to poetry about sculptures and sculpting and let music serenade you as part of
the evening’s entertainment.
March 26

ArtsFest Seguin
Art in the Park for Kids of All Ages
Central Park at the Court House
Austin and Court Streets, Seguin, TX
Marika and members of the Seguin Sculptors Guild will work with  “kids of all
ages” on an art tapestry/quilt.  The tapestry will represent the architectural
beauty of downtown Seguin.  Prior to ArtsFest a number of local artists will add
their interpretation of Seguin architectureto the tapestry.  The project for the
kids of all ages will be to add accents and borders to the tapestry using a
resin based material.

Description:  The Department of Psychiatry of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio selects and exhibits art from San Antonio area artists.  On display is Marika’s 8-foot tall mahogany sculpture, The Goddesses.

Del Mar College: 45th Annual National Drawing & Small Sculpture Show
Opening Reception: Friday, February 18 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Description:  The Annual National Drawing and Small Sculpture Show attracts works by contemporary artists across the country and is judged by a guest juror.  This year juror Professor John Vinklarek selected Marika’s The Thinker for the show.

The 5th Exhibit of the Diocese of Austin Sacred Heart Gallery

Description:  The 5th exhibit of the Diocese of Austin Sacred Heart Gallery has religious art of the Judeo-Christian tradition.  Many of the works of art are for sale.  The Diocesan Fine Arts Council selected Marika’s Ann and Mary for the exhibit.
